What Does Teaching Make You Grateful For?

A teacher of mine, Jen Louden, was just pondering what teaching makes her grateful for.

What does it make you grateful for?

Here are my thoughts.

I am grateful for my teaching because:
It helps me practice presence and mindfulness in mundane, difficult, and joyful moments.
It teaches me to go outside myself and gives me a greater sense online casinos of oneness .
It constantly challenges me to change perspectives and use all my faculties and resources.
It allows me to be of service.
It opens me up to the flow of creativity and energy that are always present — and abundant.
It keeps me humble and curious.
It allows me to see myself more clearly.
It allows me to share my gifts with the world and in turn be open to the gifts and beauty of others.

I'd love to hear yours!

Thank you for sharing that, Chantill!
Here is why teaching makes me warm and fuzzy with gratitude:

I enjoy bearing witness daily to what the physical body, the workings of the mind and the human spirit are capable of.

I can gratefully watch and participate in the celebration of change being created from the inside out.

I experience the fulfillment that comes from humbly being of service and holding the space for my expression as a teacher while remaining open as a student through deep listening and receiving.

I am uplifted by students who show up with an eager excitement for their practice and it’s translation to every day life. It is as if they say, “Lets do this together, in and out of the studio!”. With that kind of spirit, it’s easy to feel connected and hard to make any of it about “me”!

I am reminded to approach every experience, every challenge with a deep breath and a heart wide open. With ease and grace rather than push, poorly distributed force and struggle.

As I watch my students move both physically and spiritually while holding up a mirror for them (metaphorically speaking), I learn more and more about the ways I move in this world.

Teaching opens my intuition and creativity. It enables patterns to light up and become more apparent to me. Not only when I am working with a student, either. It’s as if there is a metaphoric link I can now see between the patterns and compensations we create in our physical bodies and the patterns and compensations we create in our personal relationships, thoughts, emotions, in nature and in our use of linguistic expression.

I have a lot of love, what a great opportunity to express it!
